Book Club: Slow Trains around Spain by Tom Chesshyre

Need some inspiration for holiday reading? We really enjoyed Slow trains Around Spain by Tom Chesshyre. Part travel guide, part memoir, it’s a really relaxing and interesting read.

Chesshyre provides a light and entertaining chronicle of his travels from damp London, down through France and around Spain’s cities, coast and countryside. Often visiting lesser travelled areas, he provides an insight into the individual cultures and varied politics of different areas.

Reading this book was a joy, and despite having visited the country many times we also (without trying too hard) learnt a lot about Spain.
